  Unit 1 What’s the matter?(No. 1---5)

  Patterns:
  1.运用以下句式谈论身体不适
  --What’s the matter with…?           -- He has a…/I have a…
  -- Do you have a…?                       -- Yes, I do./No, I don’t.
  -- Does he have a …?                 -- Yes, he does./No, he doesn’t.
  2. 运用以下句式给予他人保健措施
  -- What should… do?                    -- … should 动词原形…
  -- Should… 动词原形…?         -- Yes, … should./ No, … shouldn’t
  (二) 能力目标
  Train students’ listening skills and communicative skills.
  (三) 情感目标
  Students can talt their illness and give advice.

  Period 2
  Step 1  Leading in
  1.    Revise : Ask several pairs of students to the front of the classroom to act out the dialogue:
  What’s the matter with you ?
  I have a sore throat.
  Then ask others : What’s the matter with him/her ?
  Help Ss answer : He has a sore throat. He should drink lots of water.
  2.look at pictures and practise the dialogue.
  Step 2  While-task
  SB Page 3, 3a
  1.Read it and do 3b on the textbook.
  2. Read it again and fill in the chart on Tongbu.
  3. Retell it according to the chart.
  4 Explain the difficult points in the passage.
  Step 3  Post-task
  Do exercise p3-5 on Tongbu.

  Step 3  Practice
  Asdents to go through each conversation in 4a quickly, and then complete the conversations individually. Move around the classroom and help them if necessary.
  Check the answers.
  Ask some students to practice every conversation in pairs.
  Step 4 Circle and Write
  Have students choose and circle best advice for the health problems in 4b. Then asdents add their own advice about these health problems.
  Have some students to report their own advice in class.
  Step 5 Group work
  Have students read the conversation in 4c, and then ask them to work in groups. One student mimes a problem. The other students in his/ her group guess the problem and give their advice.
  Step 6Readingpractice
  Pre-reading: Show the picture in 3a to students. Teach the new words “passenger” and “trouble”. Then have them talt the picture.
  While-reading: First, asdents to read the passage and answer the question: Do you think it comes from a newspaper or a book? Have students read the sentences in 3b. Then ask them to read the passage again and check the things that happened in the story. Check the answers with their partners.
  After-reading: Have students pay attention to the questions in 3c, and then read the passage again and try answering them. Have students discuss the questions in 3c with their partners. Then ask some students to say their answers in class. Encourage them to say their own opinions.
  Step 7 Summary
