Part One Analysis of the Teaching Material
Ⅰ.Status and function
This unit is an important part in Book 2.The topic of this unit is about health. This kind of topic is related to our daily life, so it is necessary for students to know something about it. In the first period all activities introduce the key vocabulary and the target language. Students will learn to talt their health—what’s the matter with them. They can ask for leave in English because of some kind of illness. It is helpful to improve students’ spoken English. This lesson is the first period of Unit 2.So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit.
Ⅱ.Analysis of the students
The students have learned English for more than one year so far. They have already got the basic methods of learning English and have taken a great interest in English now.
Ⅲ.Teaching aims and demands
The teaching aim's basis is established according to Junior School English syllabus' provision.
1. Knowledge objects
To make the students grasp the names of the body parts and some illness.
To learn how to use the target language:
What’s the matter?
I have a cold.
I have a stomachache.
I have a sore back.
I have a sore throat.
2. Ability objects
(1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
(2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in pairs.
(3) To develop the Ss’ abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.
3. Moral objects
To ask the students to exercise every day and build a strong body.
To ask the students to take good care of themselves.

1. Key points: The names of the body parts and illness.
