  Teaching Procedures:
  Step 1: Free talk 
  1. Greetings.
  2. T: Do you like the music? What do you like doing?
  S: Yes, I do.  I like -----.
  T: Can we play basketball in the classroom?
  S: No, we can’t. T: So we have school rules. What school rules do you know? S: Don’t… \ Please …. T: If you play basketball in the classroom, the teacher will….      If you play basketball at home, your parents will….
  What will happen if you play basketball in the neighborhood? S: Other people will be mad at me. They will say, “Don’t play …!”
  Step 2: Lead in
  1. Talt the picture in 1a.
  S1: The music is too loud.
  S2: There is too much trash.
  S3: The bike is near the door. S4: Two boys are playing baseball in the yard. T: What will you say to them?
  S5: Turn down the music, please.
  S6: Don’t play baseball in the yard. 2. T: What other people are saying to them. Let’s listen to the tape. And
  number the requests in the order you hear. 3. Listen and check the answer together.
  Step 3 Pre-listening task
  Show the pictures to the students and let them find the following phrases:
  do the dishes, cleaning your room, wear those old jeans, get out of the bathroom, get up
  Then practice these words using “Would you mind doing…” by themselves.
  Step 4 Listening task
  1. T: So if the music is too loud, I can say, “Would you mind turning down the radio?” If the yard is dirty, your mother will say, “Would you mind
  cleaning the yard”. And if you play basketball in the classroom, the
  teacher will say, “Would you mind not playing basketball in the
  classroom?”
  2. Ss look at the pictures and maests.
  3. Present the responses at the same time.
  T: Let’s listen to another five conversations and match the requests with
  the responses(2b).
  4. Listen and repeat.
  5. Check the answer in pairs. 
  Step 5. Pairwork
  1.  Ask the classmates to make conversations according to the pictures on the screen, using “ Would you mind…?”.
  2. Have a competition between boys and girls. 3. Tasks. Show ten numbers (1-10) on the screen, each of which has an
  activity. Ask Ss to make proper requests.
