Comic strip and Welcome to the unit
一 教学目标
1、了解世界上的几大慈善组织。
2、探讨如何才能更好地帮助贫困地区的人们。
二 教学内容
四会内容
词汇：international pockert further health care
词组：pocket money be used to
句型：I’m not used to going out before lunch.
Hobo,you used to be very kind to me.
I’m so weak that I can’t walrther.
三 教学准备
1、教学图片。
2、多媒体和投影仪。
3、录音机。
四 教学步骤
Step1 呈 现
1、利用教学挂图展示图片，引导学生复习上一单元所学的中国慈善机构的名称及常见的慈善活动。
如：Project Hope Project Green Hope Save China’s Tiger等。
2、问学生：Have you ever done anything for charities？ How old were you at that time？What did you do？
Were you happy to help with the chatity? What about Eddie and Hobo? Are they ready to help with the charity?导入漫画部分的话题。如果学生没有为慈善事业做过事，可以引导学生去思考：What will you do to help with the poor/charity if you can/when you grow up?
3、接着为学生播放漫画部分的录音。学生带着问题去听录音。学生听完录音后，回答上面提出的问题。
4、学生阅读漫画部分，教师用多媒体显示以下问题，要求学生在限定的时间内做出回答。

一 教学目标
1、学习用ussed to来谈论过去的习惯和状态。
2、学习be used to来谈论经常做的一件事。
3、学习用so…that和such …that来表示某件事物的程度及引起的结果。
二 教学内容
四会内容：
词组： spend…on/in doing sth
句型：（1） I used to eat breakfast at 7a.m.every day.
(2) I am (not) used to the hot weather/ drinking coffe.
(3) Dr Ma has done such an important job that people must be really grateful to him.

四 教学步骤
Step1呈现
1、教师用多媒体向学生展示自己以前和现在的照片，请学生找出两张照片的不同点并尝试用英语描述。
2、用多媒体展示例句。
(1) I used to be very fat,but I am quite slim now.
(2) I used to study in a school,but I now I work in a school.
请几位学生按照所给的例句的模式描述老师的变化。
3、老师板书同学描述老师的句子，全班同学齐声朗读句子。
4、引导学生总结出used to句型表示过去的某个习惯或状态。
Step2 呈现
1、教师利用多媒体向学生呈现学校十年前的几张照片，提示学生看十年前和现在有什么不同。
2、学生根据图片用句型used to 造句。

1按逻辑顺序整理思路.
2用从图片中获取的信息,写一篇关于一个印度女孩的报告.
3给全班陈述报告.

三 教学步骤
Step1 导入
1要求学生自己根据课本第88页已完成的流程图,复述奥比斯的主要情况.
2各自然组选派一个学生,代表本组到讲台前做报告.
Step 2 呈现
1教师说; ORBIS doctors and nurses have done important work for poor people with eye problems. Doyou want to be one of them?
2学生自由讨论,给出各自的答案.
3教师导入本课的话题:Amy found some pictures about an ORBISnurse

Step1 复习
1、教师通过提问，激活学生的固有知识，引入本单元的语言情境：Do international charities play an important role in the world? Which of the charities do you think is the most important one?
2、教师继续提问：
(1)Which charity helps with poor people who are blind?
(2)How do ORBIS doctors treat their patients?
(3)Do ORBIS doctors also play an important part in the developingof the local hospital?
(4)Which charity helps with the children around the world?
