  Step 1   Lead-in
  T:Hello, everyone. Nice to see you. My family name is Liu, so you can call me Miss Liu. I’m very glad to study with all of you. Before our new lesson, I’d like to as some questions.(Ask the students to answer them together or ask of one of them to answer the questions.) (Slide 2)
  Did you sleep well last night?
  What time did you go to bed?
  What time did your get up this morning?
  (After that, show the drill “How long did you sleep last night?” And ask the students to answer it, then show the answer “—I slept for…”
  Step 2  (Activity1a)Discussion
  T:Now please discuss these questions and then give me your answers, OK?(Slide 3)When did you start class today?
  What’s the time now?
  Are you still having class now?
  (Give the students one or two minutes to discuss them and then ask one student to give the answers. After that, show the drill “How long have you been in class today ?”Ask the student to answer it. Then show the answer “—I have been in class for…”
  Step 3   New words
  T:OK, here are some new words we have to learn in this part. Now, please look at the pictures and let’s learn them together.(Slides 4, 5)
  (show the pictures one by one, and learn the new words: shell, collect shells, skate…by asking and answering questions. )
  Step 4  Drills:
  T:Now let's learn some new drills. Please look at the pictures and listen carefully.(Slides 6, 7)
  (Point to the shells pictures and ask“What are those?” Get the students to answer “Shells”. Then ask them to listen:“I like collecting shells.” Ask:“What’s the boy’s hobby?”
