  第一课时New words and phrases
  Teaching and Learning Goals:
  一、语言知识和语言技能:
  1.能学习并使用下列词汇造句子。
  allow; wrong; guess; deal; relation; communicate; argue; instead; whatever; nervous; offer; proper; secondly; explain; return; anymore; pressure; compete; opinion; typical; quick; continue; compare; development; usual; perhaps等。
  2.能在具体情景下学会使用下列常用短语进行英语表达。
  allow sb. to do sth.; loogh; big deal; argue with; wort; get on with; communicate with sb.; return to; cut out; compare…with…; in one’s opinion等。
  3.理解、翻译并复述运用本节课的新词汇所编写的故事,借助英文故事记忆单词。
  二、学习策略:
  1.依据图片理解和记忆词汇。(Understand and remember the words and phrases with the help of the pictures.)
  2.在语境中理解和记忆词汇。(Understand and remember the words and phrases in the context.)
  3.依据读音规则、构词规律理解和记忆词汇。(Understand and remember the words and phrases according to phonetic rules, the structures of the words and phrases.)
  4.合作探究的方式学习词汇,并运用新学词汇与同伴交流。(Learn and express with the new words in groups.)
  三、情感态度:
  通过学习,引导学生学会善于与别人友好地相处,遇到问题要主动地去和别人分享和交流,要学会放松自己以缓解压力。
  Teaching and learning steps:
  Step1. Learn how to read the new words
  1. Ask the Ss to try reading the new words in Unit4 by themselves.
  2. Play the tape and ask the Ss to read after the tape to correct the pronunciation.
  3. Let the Ss work in groups of four to help each other to get more correct pronunciation.
  4.Ask the groups to show their pronunciation to the class. Other groups can help correct. The teacher walnd the groups to give necessary help.
  (设计说明:在识单词阶段,首先以探究的形式让学生自己试读单词,然后读给全班听,同时师生共同纠正。再跟读磁带,以获取纯正读音。最后,利用小组互助的形式让每一个学生都能读出单词。这一环节采用小组内互助纠错的形式比较好,能把没有自信心的同学也带动了起来。)
  Step 2. Learn how to memorize the new words and phrases
  1. Remember the words and phrases according to the pictures.
  ▼T: In our daily life, we can meet all kinds of people and things. Maybe these things cause lots of happiness, nervous or pressure. So we must have the proper ideas to deal with them.(借助图片把这句话中涉及的新词展示出。

  T: For most of us, we often face things like this. So we should use the proper ways to deal with them.(Repeat and explain: proper adj. 正确的,恰当的;deal n. 协议,处理)
  ▼T: To have less pressure, we can do many things to relax ourselves:

  We can play football or compete with other groups to relax ourselves.

  We can also communicate with our parents or friends to relaxed ourselves.
  Cmmunicating with others can mar relations better.

  1. Preview
  Look at the book on Page29 and ask the students to translate the following Chinese into English. First ask the students to put them into English orally, then write them down without looking at the books.
  (设计意图:让学生对文本中的重点短语和句型有所了解,同时通过检测学生的预习效果,教师可以更有针对性地教,学生可以更有针对性的学。)
  2.Warming up and lead-in.
  Show the students a picture and ask them a question.
  T: What’s wrong with the girl?
  S1: She feels worried about her schoolwork.
  T: Yes, you are right. She has too much stress about her schoolwort you know, too much stress is bad for our health. So we must learn to relax ourselves to lower the stress.
  Show the students another picture and ask them a question.
  T: What does she often do to lower her stress?
  S2: She often listens to music and reads interesting books.
  T: Do you have any stress about your schoolwork and life?
  Do you know how to lower your stress?
  S: Yes, we do.
