Ask the students to look at the picture. Ask, “What are they doing?”
Let a student read the four sentences to the students.

Tell them they will listen to a conversation talking about going on a vacation. Then play the recording for the first time. Students only listen. Play the recording a second time. Ask them to write the numbers in the blanks.

Explain the language points.
1. (1) hope 用于表示实现可能性很大的希望,常用句型为hope to do和hope (that)…, 不能说hope sb to do sth.。e .g. I hope to finish my homework before 6:00. 我希望在六点前完成作业。
I hope that you can come to meet my family. 我希望你能见我的家人。
(2) wish,意为“希望”,“愿望”,所表示的希望大体上是可以实现的,其句型是wish sb. to do sth., 后接从句时多用虚拟语气。e.g.
We wished to visit Beijing. 我们渴望去北京参观。
How he wished for a gl ass of cold water! 他多想要一杯凉水呀!
We wished that he could come. (我们希望)他能e day(将来)某一天 e.g.
I hope to be a scientist some day. 我希望将来 某一天能成为一名科学家。
I hope to buy a computer some day. 我希望有一天能买台电脑。
