　　一、创设情境，切入主题
　　Step 1：Lead－in
　　Lead－in by discussing the following questions：
　　1.Where does east point on a map？
　　2.What colour is China on the map？
　　3.Where is Australia？
　　Discuss the questions in groups.The teacher shows a map of the world and asks the students to answer these questions.
　　Ask the students to talt them for three minutes and then let them present their answers in class.
　　二、展开过程，探究新知
　　Step 2：Listening
　　Listen to the tape and find the answers to the questions：
　　1.Where does south point？
　　2.When will Wang Mei’s grandparents go to New Zealand？
　　3.What colour is Canada on the map？
　　Finish the task in class orally.
　　Step 3：Reading
　　Read the lesson and decide the statements are true or false.
　　1.Australia is southeast of New Zealand.

　　Step 4：Activities
　　1.Greet with friends in groups.Map a dialogue between three or four students.Then present it in front of the class.The following sentence can be used：

　　2.Think it over and show us your dialogue.
　　Step 5：Write a short note
　　Suppose you are going on a trip to Canada，how can you get there from China？Write a short note.Remember to tell where you are going and what you will do.
　　Practice for a while.Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.

　　Listen to the tape again and finish Exercise 1 together.Read the lesson again and finish Exercise 2.
