五. 知识精要
主谓一致涉及三个基本原则,即语法一致原则,就近一致原则和意义一致原则
1. 语法一致原则: 即主语是单复数形式,谓语动词用单数形式;主语是复数形式,谓语动词用复数形式。
1) The singer and the dancer____ (looks/look) so like each other, they’re twins.这歌星和舞蹈家看起来很像彼此,他们是双胞胎。
2) The singer and dancer____ (is/are) going to give us a performance.
那名歌星兼舞蹈家要给我们一场表演。
说明:如果指两个或两个以上不同的人或事物的时候,谓语动词用复数。如果指的是同一个人或物, 或者指同一概念的时候, 谓语要用单数
2. 就近一致原则: 即谓语动词用单数形式还是复数形式取决于最靠近它的那个主语的单复数形式。
