I. 教材介绍 (Textbook Introduction)
The main grammatical structure is “Subject-Verb agreement”.
II. Teaching objectives
Teaching objectives 1. Knowledge objectives 1. Students will be able to nderstand、use subject-verb agreement from three aspects.
notional agreement (意义一致)
grammatical agreement(语法一致)
principle of proximity(就近一致)
2. Skill objective Students will be able to learn to use subject-verb agreement correctly.
3. Affection objective Students will be able to learn something about Women volleyball team.
Important teaching points Students will be able to learn to use subject-verb agreement correctly.
Difficult teaching points Students will be able to use subject-verb agreement correctly especially when the subjects are collective nouns.
Teaching aids Multi-media, a blackboard, worksheets.
III.(Teaching procedures)
Step I. Greeting&Lead-in
Teacher greets the students casually and lead in Subject-Verb agreement.
T: I’m very happy to meet so many teachers. Are you happy to meet them?
Ss:...(教师引导并板书 I’m happy. She is happy. You are happy. Our class are happy. 用已学知识导入新的知识点。)
Step II. Teacher presents sentences with collective nouns acting as the subjects through communicating with the students.
(教师引导并板书Our class are happy. Our class is made up of 50 students.
并在女排图片的辅助下,板书The team are good at volleyball. The team is the best one.)
1. The students discuss in groups and try to find out the special usages of collective nouns.
(教师可提示学生关注这些集合名词的意思,如,班级和班级成员。)
2. Teacher guides the students to draw a conclusion by asking them questions.
(教师问学生这些单词对比的意思及相应的谓语动词的单复形式,得出集合名词的定义和集合名词作主语的规则)
Step III. The students put what they have learned into practice by doing some exercises.
Step Ⅳ.Teacher draws the students’attention to one passage about the belief of women volleyball team and guides them to find out the special usages of infinite pronouns.
1. The students read the passage and find out the belief of women volleyball team.
2. Teacher guides the students to find out the verbs and the subjects of each sentences and use mind map to help the students brainstorm more infinite pronouns they know.
3. T guides the students to draw the final conclusion.
Step Ⅴ. The students put what they have learned into practice by doing some exercises.
Step Ⅵ. Teacher presents sentences with principle of proximity with the help of some pictures.
(教师借助女排夺冠的图片引出,All of them are happy. Both Lang Ping and the girls are happy. Not only Lang Ping but also the girls are happy. Not only the girls but also Lang Ping is happy.再借助于一张动物图片引出There is a cat and two dogs. There are two dogs and one cat.)
Step Ⅶ. Teacher guides the students to find out the grammar rules and help them to brainstorm more conjunctions follow this rule.
(教师通过让学生找谓语和找主语的形式,让学生自己去发现谓语动词的变化是依据最近的主语发生的变化,进而得出主谓一致的原则。教师再鼓励学生想出更多符合这个原则的连接词。)
Step Ⅷ.The students put what they have learned into practice by doing some exercises.
Step Ⅸ. The students play a game to check their grasp of today’s grammar rule.
(此游戏里包含一些含有语法错误的句子,但也有一些句子是正确的,学生需判断正误,改正并得分。
Step Ⅹ. The students finish a passage about a letter from Lang Ping to
