熟练掌握与话题相关的词汇,短语和句子:
career / opportunity /education
responsibility / prevent…from/ run
What does she look like?
Why do you admire her?
What did she do to impress you most?
How would you describe her?
Why did she choose to……?
What are her strengths /weaknesses?
Can you give an example to show…?
b.技能目标
Students will be able to do some listening exercises by catching some topic sentences and key words.
Students will be able to use some objectives and sentences to describe a person.
c.情感目标
Through the listening materials the students will have a better understanding of the roles women play in society.
3)教学重点
   How to improve students’ listening skills.
   How to describe people orally.
4) 教学难点
Understanding the listening materials.
Using adjectives and relative expressions to describe people.

五、教学过程:
Step1: Lead-in(6mins)(问题导入)
1.Marvey: 
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Who do you think is easier to achieve their dreams? The boys or the girls ?
Is it easy for women to succeed in their careers?
2.Enjoy some famous sayings to lead the important words of listening.
3.Asdents to read the words for twice.
career n.生涯;职业
fair   n. 公平
prevent…from 阻止某人做某事
education n. 教育
opportunity n.机会
responsibility  n.责任;职责
run  v.  经营,负责(某事物)
Listening (15mins)
Step2. Pre-listening
Present some listening tips.
1) To catch the general idea.
2) To catch the key words and the topic sentences.
Step3. While-listening 1
1. Listen for the first time
Play the tape for students to get the topic sentence of each paragraph and finish the exercises.
1).Title: Are women(          ) a (        ) chance?
2). First, girls have more difficulty getting an (         ) than boys.
3). Second, women have more difficulty getting to the top of their chosen (       ).
4). Third, women are more likely to (       )their careers to look after (      ) or run the (        ).
  Check the answers with the whole class.
Step4.While-listening 2
Listen again for the detailed information
Before playing the tape for the second time, ask the students to read through the exercise and fill in the missing words. Ask them to take notes and write down the key words.

2. Unless women are given the __________, they will never be able to show that they can ___________successfully.

Step5: Post-listening
1.Asdents to read the listening text to review the three problems and answer the question : .
Do you agree with the speaker in the listening text? Why?
Step6: Speaking (15mins)
Task1: Discussion  Show the pictures of some successful women and play a video to asdents to discuss the questions:
What do these successful women have in common?
What makes them so successful?
Beautiful, confident…
Task2: Interview (Pair work)
Asdents to use these questions to ask their partner: Who is the successful woman he/she admires most?

What does she look like?               
Why do you admire her?
What did she do to impress you most?
Why did she choose to…?
What are her strengths /weaknesses?
She is…
I admire her because…
She helped me to …
She chose to …
Her strengths are…


And then, asdents to write down their partner’s answers.
(Two minutes later, asdents to show their interview to the whole class.)
Task3. Asdents to organize the partner’s answers into a short report.
Who is the successful woman your partner admires?
You can begin your report like this: The woman my partner admires is…


Step6: Summary (2mins)
Mammary.
1. Some words: career/prevent/opportunity/responsibilities/run company/education
2. How to get the topic sentence.
3. How to describe a person by using adjectives and some relative expressions.
Step7: Homework (1min)
1. Listen to the listening exercise on page44 after class.
2. Polish your report and hand it in.
