Teaching aims:
1. To introduce and develop the theme of travels in the Three Gorges.
2. To develop speaking ability by talking about the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges.
Important and difficult points:
1. Get students to understand the passage about the Three Gorges
2. Madents know the some information about the Yangtze River
3. Help students to learn some new words and some reading skills.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Lead-in and new words of this module
Show the students a picture about the Three Gorges. Meanwhile learn some new words
Step 2. Brainstorming
单词点拨
surround “环绕”
surround作动词时，意思为“环绕，围绕”，多与with / by搭配。如：
The fence surrounds the school. 篱笆环绕着学校。
surround用作动词，还有“包围，围困”的意思。如：
The police surrounded the house. 警察包围了这幢房子。
习惯用语：be surrounded with / by，意思为“被……环绕着，被……包围”，如：
We are surrounded by dangers. 我们的处境危机四伏。
trade “买卖”
trade用作不及物动词时，意思为“做买卖，做生意”。如：
It is very important for our country to trade with other countries. 对我们国家来说，同其他国家进行贸易往来非常重要。
trade还可以用作及物动词，意思为“交换”，多与for连用。如：
surround, trade, view 小练
