　　1. Enable the students to improve their speaking ability by talking about sports，telling their partners what sports are.

　　Greet the students as usual.
　　Step 2 Lead in 
　　Lead in what they will learn by asking the following questions and showing some pictures.
　　1. Do you like sports? Why?
　　2. What are your favorite sports?
　　3. What sports do you know? (Show pictures to motivate the students)
　　Step 3 Talking
　　Get the students to talt the pictures on Page 21, and answer the questions below.
　　1. What are / is they/ the girl / the man doing?
　　2. Among these sports, which do you enjoy watching? And which do you enjoy playing?
　　3. Why do you think sport is so popular?  ( Because it does good to our heath．It can help us
　　students to become stronger and prepare us well for our present and future life．It can also help the old to keep healthy and help the women to keep fit. It is a good way of relaxing. When doing sports, we can learn how to become a brave and confident person. It can help us to deal with the problems in our life. It’s good for us to develop a good lifestyle.)
