(一)宾语从句:
Grammar: Object clause 宾语从句
宾语从句在整个句子中作宾语成分
宾语从句的语序为陈述句语序,注意主从句的时态一致。即主句为现在时态,从句可以是实际所需任何时态;主句为过去时态时,从句是与过去相关的时态。
1)陈述句变成宾语从句时,用that引导,语序不变。
He has given up smoking. She said…→
She said that he had given up smoking.
2) 一般疑问句变为宾语从句时,用if或whether引导,语序变为陈述句语序。
Is he doing his homework? I asked him… →
I asked him if he was doing his homework.
3)特殊疑问句变宾语从句时,特殊疑问词即为引导词,语序变为陈述句语序。
Where are you going? She asked me…→
She asked me where I was going.
4) 如果宾语从句表示的是科学真理、客观事实或格言警句等,从句一律用一般现在时。
Granny told me that the earth moves around the sun.
5)当主句的主语为I, we , 谓语为think, believe, guess, suppose 等词时,其后的宾语从句的否定应该转移到主句上。
I don’t think he can come this morning.
Ex. Use object clauses to combine the two ideas
1. Can you tell me…? / Where will the game take place?
Can you tell me where the game will take place?
2. Do you know…? /Who won the basketball game?
3. Who knows…?/ Did the team win the game?
