  Making a travel leaflet    
  Teaching Aims:
  1. Get students to know the information about Shangri-la.
  2. Encourage students to study how to make a leaflet.
  3. Improve students’ writing and speaking abilities.
  4. Instruct the students to love nature and our school.
  Teaching Important and Difficult Points:
  How to lead students to make a leaflet about our school through cooperation.
  Teaching Methods:
  1. Opening teaching
  2. Task-based language teaching
  3. Interest-inspiring teaching   
  Teaching Aids:
  A computer and the blackboard
  Teaching procedures:
  Step I  Lead – in
  1. Show some pictures about the teachers’ travelling experience in Thailand, and have a free talk  about it.
  2. Ask one of the students to come to the front , and show little performance to their classmates.  (Homework checking)
  3. Show students a photo of one of students in Shangri-la, and ask them to guess where she is.
  4. Show students a video clip about Shangri-la.
  T : Today we’ll wander around the beautiful place Shangri-la.
  Step II  Reading a travel leaflet about Shangri-la
  Activity1: Reading and answering (Part1&2)
  Ask one of the students to read the first two parts and asestions.
  Q: 1. Where is Shangri-la? (B)
  A. Dali      B. Zhongdian    C. Kunming
  Q:2. How can you get there? Which way do you want to choose and why?
  Activity2: Listening and selecting(Part3&4)
  Listen to part 3& 4 and select some beautiful sentences describing Shangri-la.
  Activity3: Matching the pictures from the text to describe Shangri-la
  Finish this tasgh students’ competition.
  Activity4: Discussion
  Discuss in pairs, then choose one word to summarize(总结)each part:
  scenery    history    activities   weather    food   introduction
  Location(位置)  culture  transport(交通)
  Step III  Making a travel leaflet-----A leaflet of our school
  1. Show some pictures about No.1 Middle School of Changde.
  2. Give tips for making a leaflet of our school.
  3. Divide the whole class into several groups and ask them to create their own leaflet of No.1 Middle School.
  4. Present in competition, with the aid of praising the students.
  Step V Homework
  1.Mar leaflet perfect and put it on the wall.
  2.Finish PartD1 and D2 on page 97 in the workbook.
