　　1) speat the harm of smoking.
　　2) refer to the passage and get advice on giving up smoking.
　　3) learn how to write a letter of advice on giving up smoking.
　　Important points in teaching:
　　Students can write their outline and a letter of advice according to the article structure.
　　Difficult points in teaching:
　　Students not only learn to write a letter of advice but also learn to correct and polish their writing.
　　Teaching methods:
　　Communicative language and task based teaching.
　　Teaching aids:
　　Multimedia, a blackboard
　　Teaching Procedures:
　　Step 1 : Check Ss’s homework
　　Step 2: Lead in
　　Show some pictures to Ss, let them speat the harm of smoking.
　　Step 3: Discussion (group work)
　　Suppose your classmate, Tom, is smoker. He doesn’t know how to give it up. Discuss in group and give him some advice. You can read the passage to get more help.(para2 &3)
　　Step 4: Read a letter of advice and analyze the structure.

　　I have some difficulty in learning English. So I’m writing to talt it. My suggestions are as follows:
