　　本节课是必修三第五模块古代人物话题的阅读课。本节课的学习目标为：通过本节课，学生能够在已有的知识储备上，更深入的了解三位伟大的哲学家孔子、孟子和墨子的一些信息，尤其是他们的主要学说；并且通过分析课文，能从五大方面尝试去描述一个伟大的人物；最终联系实际，体会到三位哲学家对中国及至对自己的深远影响，从而更加尊重和热爱我们的祖国与文化，并从自身做起，努力学习并积极传播我们的文化瑰宝。
　　学情分析
　　学生在高一必修一第二模块My New Teachers一课中对如何描述一个身边的人物有所了解，又经过接近三册必修的学习，有一定的英语知识基础。另外，他们固有的对于先哲的知识也为本课的学习降低了不少难度。

　　目标 By reading this passage, students can learn more words, expressions and sentences on how to describe a great person.

　　目标 1>Students can practise their skills like skimming, scanning, analyzing and so on.
　　2>From this class, students will be able to describe a great philosopher from 5 aspects --- time, family bacnd, life experiences, influence and teachings.

　　目标 From this class, I hope students can become more concrned about our national culture and work hard to popularize our culture. Besides, students can let the teachings of the three philosophers lead them to behave more properly in their life and study.
　　教学重难点 教学重点：
　　1.通过学习课文，训练学生predicting, skimming, scanning, summarizing等阅读微技能；
　　2.通过对文章深层次的理解及对细节的剖析，掌握描述一伟大人物的写作特点。
　　教学难点：
　　学生能够根据本课课文的内容，掌握描述伟大人物的五个方面，并进行语言的运用和输出。
　　教学方法
　　运用任务型教学途径和小组协作的学习方式，围绕文章内容，设计听、说、读、写的活动任务，尽可能地提供训练学生四项技能的机会。教学沿着“创设情境——预测话题——速读课文——细读课文——复述课文——拓展延伸——口头表述”的思路实施。
　　教学准备 外研版中学教材《英语》（新课标）页课件；多媒体网络教室。
　　教学过程设计：
　　本节课自始至终围绕一个主线，即influential一词，学生在老师的引导下进行阅读、讨论等活动。目标明确，层次清晰，步步深入，紧扣主题。
　　Step 1 Leading-in（图片导入，问题诱导）
　　I’ll show students pictures of 4 famous people (JayJoe, XiJinping, LuXun and Confucius) and ask them a questions “Who do you like best?”. They may have different answers. Then another question:“Who do you think has influenced China the most?” and they may give the answer Confucius. In this way, the word influential will be introduced. By talking about the Chinese meanings of 2 teachings about Confucius, I will show students the topic of the class.
