  Analysis of the position of the lesson
  The lesson is the first period of unit one Friendship which is taken from New Senior English for China Students Book1. This unit focuses on friendship and it tells us that a friend can not only be a human being but other things. In today’s lesson we will discus the WARMING UP and PRE-READING. This unit begins with a survey which examines whether the students are good friends and make them consider what qualities and behaviors make a good friend. The pre-reading activity focus students’ attention on the main topic of the reading passage and prepare them to think critically about the topic and provides them with the opportunity to connee aspect of the topic to their own lives. The purpose of this part is to introduce the topic to the students in an interesting way. In addition, we do a bit of preparation for a large learning task. It can help the students have a

  Good morning, everyone. It’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my lesson plan. It is a reading type lesson. The reading material is from PEP NSEFodule1 Unit2----English around the World. The topic of this unit is English language, its development and different kinds of English. This passage talt the development of English, from old English to Modern English.
  The analysis and rearrangement of teaching material
  To help students understand better, I have made following rearrangement.
  Since Para.1 and para.5 both talt the English spread in space. Para.3 and para.4 both talt the development of English in the time order. And para.4 mentioned the difference between British English and American English in spelling , students will follow to learn another difference in para2, ,which is the different English expression. So the teaching order is not from para.1 to para.5 one by one, instead, firstly, para1 and para5, secondly, para3 and para4 and lastly, para2. With the two clear clue, Ss will understand the passage more logically and easily.
  The analysis of learning condition
  As the center of my class, my students have already acquired a certain amount of words and expressions , and equipped with basic reading skills, whiake it possible to generally understand the passage. While they have learned English for several years, they are still in lack of the bacnd knowledge of the English, such as the history of English , how it changes and why. What`s more, they need more chance to practice the reading skills, so that they can use correctly and freely.
  Concerning of the teaching material and my students` learning condition , I set following achievable and practical Learning Objectives

     Hello, everyone. It’s an honor for me to stand here and interpret my lesson. The lesson plan I am going to talt is from NSEFC Boonit 3 Travel Journal. I’ll explain how to teach and why do so from the following 5 aspects: the theoretical basis, understanding of the teaching material, teaching methods and studying ways, teaching procedure, blackboard design.
   
  Ⅰ. The theoretical basis
  First, I’d like to show my theoretical basis--sa theory and top-down model (Goodman, 1971). Journey down the Mekong is a reading course. According to sa theory, reading prehension is an interactive process between the reader’s bacnd knowledge and the text (Carrel and Eisterhold, 1983), or between the new information and the old knowledge store (Anderson and Pearson, 1984). So in order to improve the students’ reading speed and reading prehension, language teachers should try to activate the Ss’ old knowledge store and add more relevant bacnd knowledge before they get the students to read. According to the top-down model, general idea of the text will be got first, and then e the details.
   
  II. Understanding of the teaching material
     My understanding of the teaching material includes 3 parts: the status and the function, teaching objectives, the important and difficult points.
  At the beginning, let’s focus on the first part. Journey down the Mekong is a piece of travel journal written by Wang Kun. It’s mainly about Wang Kun and his sister’s dream of taking a great bike trip down the Mekong River, their preparation for the trip and some more details of the Mekong River. General speaking, it is not difficult for the students to understand the text, but there are some new phrases and sentences that may be a little bit difficult. So before the students’ first reading, I will explain the new words and phrases briefly and after reading the whole passage, I will embody the usage of the news words and phrases, and get
  Unit 4   Earthquakes
  Warming up and reading
  Part1 Analyses of teaching material
  (1)status and function
  This lesson is the first period of this unit. The main purpose of this lesson is to help the Ss to know basic knowledge about earthquakes and learn from the bravery of people in Tangshan to face the reality and rebuild the city. Through reading the passage of “a night the earth didn’t sleep”, the Ss should develop their reading ability by using reading strategies such as skimming, scanning and so on.
  (2)Teaching aims
  Knowledge aims
  Get the Ss to learn some useful and important new words, expressions and sentence patterns such as shake, well, rise, craelly, pond, be trapped under, it seemed as if the world was at an end! …
  Get the Ss to know basic knowledge about natural disasters.
  Ability aims
  Develop the Ss’ reading ability and get the Ss to learn different reading skills.
  Enable the Ss to give their own opinions.
  Train the Ss’ ability to collect useful information from the Internet by themselves.
  Emotional aim
  Get the Ss to know damages earthquakes bring about and the ways to rescue losses of earthquakes.
  Get the Ss to know how to protect themselves and help others in earthquakes.
  Get the Ss to be aware of terrible disasters, meanwhile get them to face it, treat it in a proper way, and never get discouraged.
  (3)Teaching important points
  Get the Ss to know basic knowledge about natural disasters.
  Get the Ss to learn about Tangshan Earthquake.
  Enable the Ss to learn some important language points and grammar.
