My little brother and sister were always saying that I was bossy (爱发号施令的). And it wasn't until I met a very bossy person that I understood how they felt!
My school was holding a fundraiser (募捐活动) called the Spring Fling Fair, and everyone was going to help out. I was pretty excited about it. There were lots of committees to choose from, and I chose games and activities, which sounded lin.
But every time we got together, a guy named Peter did the same thing. He never seemed to realize that he was part of a team with three other people.
At last, it was the day of the Spring Fling Fair, and we were all running around getting ready.
“You need to make the horseshoes sign hang straighter,” Peter commanded.
“Would you please do it yourself?” I said. “I'm kind of busy organizing the prizes.”
“There are too many pink balloons on the wall,” Peter complained. “You should add more blue ones.”
“Feel free to go ahead and add them,” Mike said.
The best (or maybe the worst) example of Peter's bossiness happened when the Spring Fling Fair finally started. A cute little girl was fishing for a prize, and Peter grabbed (抢夺) the fishing pole right out of her hands!
“You're holding it all wrong,” he told her. “Do it like this!”
This little girl loop at Peter, took a big breath, and said, “That may be the right way for you to do it, but it's not the right way for me.”
And that was probably the best thing this little girl could have said.
The good part of this experience is that it helped me understand how my brother and sister felt when I told them what to do and didn't stop to be polite or consider their feelings. Now I try to be more patient and less bossy, and we get along much better.
1.On the day of the Spring Fling Fair, Peter ________.

Hugh Laurie was the star of the TV series House. The show was watched by over 80 million people across the globe, but has just finished on May 21st, 2012. Fans will definitely miss the talented and troubled Dr Gregory House, who heads a team of doctors at a New Jersey hospital, but there are probably two things that many don't realize: firstly, Hugh Laurie had a long acting career before House; and secondly, although many think he's from the United States, he's actually an English.
Hugh got into acting while studying at Cambridge University. He joined the Footlights, an amateur theater group, and began writing and performing in comedy shows. Soon after, he met fellow student and comedian Stephen Fry, and the two became comedy partners. Together they had huge success on British television in the series Jeeves and Wooster and A Bit of Fry & Laurie. By the early 1990s, Hugh was a household name in Britain, but he was still unknown to American and international audiences.
However, that all changed in 2004. Hugh was acting in the film Flight of the Phoenix in Namibia when he heard about the upcoming TV show House. He read a few pages of the script (剧本) and fell in love with the main character, Dr Gregory House. So, Hugh filmed an audition (试演) in the bathroom of his hotel (it was the only place with enough light for the camera). The producers loved his audition and Hugh got the part.
House quickly became an international hit. And Hugh has since become a superstar. But fame hasn't been easy on his personal life. He's spent the last eight years living in Los Angeles, while his wife and kids stayed in England.
So, now that House is over, will Hugh return to England? Or will his family move to the United States? They're still not sure. But Hugh has said that one thing he doesn't miss about London is the weather. “This morning I was having a cup of coffee outside ... In London you can only do that three days of the year!”
1.What can we learn about the TV series House?
A.It was directed by Stephen Fry.
B.Its actors all come from America.
C.It is a long-running TV series.
D.Its story mainly happens in England.
2.Which of the following is the CORRECT order of the events that happened in Hugh Laurie's life?

Each day, teachers in the classroom are becoming more familiar with students who are struggling to deal with a psychological phenomenon known as failure syndrome. For these educators, finding ways in which to connect and educate a child suffering from failure syndrome can be challenging. Because children with failure syndrome often are convinced they can not accomplish any goals given to them, teachers have found educating these students requires a unique and creative approach. As an educator, if you are struggling with students who seem to be afflicted with failure syndrome, consider these guidelines to improve the overall success of all of your students.
First, begin by focusing on the degree of complexity in the work given to the student. Often, students who feel they are a failure will commonly express confusion and disinterest when faced with overly complex tasks. The key to educating the children suffering from failure syndrome is to first raise their self-confidence. Therefore, educators should use tasks and educational tools that are less complex.
Beyond analysis of complexity of the academic curriculum, educators must also look at ways in which to reward and recognize a student for simply making attempts to achieve and complete assignments. Even though tasks may be wrong or complex, the child who suffers from failure syndrome must be encouraged to simply complete any assignment without regard to correctness. In doing this, educators can provide praise and support for the simple completion of a task.
Students who experience failure syndrome commonly will give up easily feeling as if they can not complete any assignment fully or accurately. If a child gives up on a science fair project because the results did not turn out as planned, the student should be encouraged to identify where the error was made and then arrangements should be made to allow for the error to be corrected.
