Bacnds:
1. Grade 7 students have known a little about simple future tense with “be going to” and “shall we…?”
2. The text book creates a real context for the students to have a better understanding of the simple future tense.
3. Students grasp the two grammar structures is this class’ focus. The difficulty is that how the students could use the simple future tense correctly in real context.
4. Students can benefit from this class when they carry on with 8B Unit 4 and Unit 6, 9A Unit 1 and Unit3.
Teaching aims
1. Students can grasp the new words in this class.
2. Students can learn to use the structures of simple future tense with be going to and will/ shall.
3. Students can understand simple future tense while listening or reading.
4. Students can use simple future tense in different contexts.
5. Students can create a better habit of mind by making plans.
Teaching procedures:
Before-class warming up.:
Play a cartoon about the simple future tense with “be going to” and “will / shall” two minutes before class.
Step 1 lead-in
1. Show a picture of my school to the students. Tell them that I am from Shangxinhe Middle School, and it is going to be Zhonghua Experimental Secondary School at the end of this month.
Write down “be going to” on the blackboard.
Then ask the students, “Shall we begin our class?”
Write down “Shall we ……?” on the blackboard.
2. Choose the first picture of comic strip to show to the students.
Ask the students to guess: “What are they going to do?”
Help them answer this question with “be going to”.
Then tell the students: “They are going to Sunshine park for camping.”
