  1.Teaching objectives
  Knowledge objectives :  to grasp some of the new words and phrases:
  route  robber   push  van 
  police uniform  police station  traffic lights
  go along… turn left into… turn right into…
  Ability Objectives :   To infer meaning from keywords, context and existing knowledge
  To understand a series of events in the story
  To draw the routes on the map and identify specific details
  Effective Objectives :  To know the correct  ways of escaping when there is a robber
  2.Teaching main points:
  To help students to get the main and whole idea of the story
  To identify specific details by following a route and marking points on a map.
  3.Teaching Difficulties: To identify specific details by following a route
  To grasp some new words in the reading materials
  4.Teaching Procedures
  Step 1 presentation  
  1.Loor pictures and tell the students a story: One day, I am on my way home. Usually I go this way. But that day , I take another route(go another way). Just then, a van stops beside me at the traffic lights and a young man gets out of the van. He pushes me over and tries to rob me of my bag. But I am not afraid. I shout ‘ help! Help! Here is a robber. A policeman in police uniform hears and runs over. He catches the robber and takes him to the police station.
  2.Ask the students some questions: What is the young man?
  What does he drive?
  What does the policeman wear?
  Where does he work?
  And then teach the students the new words: police station, police uniform, robbers, van, traffic lights, van.
  3.ask the students : Do you think I am very lucky? And lead in reading by asking : who else has a lucky escape ?
  Step 3 Skimming
  T: Now please skim the text and answer the questions.
  Who else has a lucky escape?
  How many people are there in the story?/Who are they?
  Where does the story happen?
  Step 3 Reading
  1.T: Ok, Please read line3-11 and put the sentences in order.
  The twins drive to Hill Building.
  The twins get a call.
