1.Teaching objectives

4.Teaching Procedures
Step 1 presentation
1.Loor pictures and tell the students a story: One day, I am on my way home. Usually I go this way. But that day , I take another route(go another way). Just then, a van stops beside me at the traffic lights and a young man gets out of the van. He pushes me over and tries to rob me of my bag. But I am not afraid. I shout ‘ help! Help! Here is a robber. A policeman in police uniform hears and runs over. He catches the robber and takes him to the police station.
2.Ask the students some questions: What is the young man?
What does he drive?
What does the policeman wear?
Where does he work?
And then teach the students the new words: police station, police uniform, robbers, van, traffic lights, van.
3.ask the students : Do you think I am very lucky? And lead in reading by asking : who else has a lucky escape ?
Step 3 Skimming
T: Now please skim the text and answer the questions.

How many people are there in the story?/Who are they?
Where does the story happen?
Step 3 Reading
