本单元以“文化影响我们”展开活动。通过加拿大和中国的不同文化、习俗的对比,了解不同国家的不同的文化底蕴,掌握有关文化、习俗的语句及表达提供和接受邀请等的语句。
(一)语言知识
1. 掌握的词汇:
shape, perhaps, dinner, though, knock, hang, offer,
serve, strange, mind, fox, flat, politely, hardly,
central, respect, differenemory, pare, accept
2. 识别的词汇:
Scotland, bagpipe, stork, beadely,
ancestor, immigrant, tolerate, dancer, host
3. 词组和句型:
knock on, May I e in?
hang up, help yourself (yourselves) to…,
May I serve you some…? Than!

(二)语言技能
1. 听:听懂简单故事的情节发展,理解主要事件。

3. 读:根据不同的阅读目的采取不同的阅读手段获取文章大意,能够利用工具书自己阅读。
4. 写:能使用常见的连词表达顺序和逻辑关系。
(三)学习策略
交际中注意到中外习俗的差异,能自己发现总结并利用语言规律,主动在交际中运用所学的知识。
(四)情感态度
敢于用英语表达自己的看法,培养学英语的兴趣及勇气,积极参加小组活动,乐于了解异域文化。
(五)文化意识
了解不同国家的文化差异,加深对中国文化的理解。初步了解英语国家的地理位置、气候特点、历史等。
(六)难点
1. 四会的词词组句式。
2. 定语从句和宾语补足语。
3. 表达邀请及接受的习惯用语。

Teaching Procedure:
Step1. e to “THINT IT”.
Lead in by discussing the following questions:
What do you know about dinosaurs? List the names of some types of dinosaurs you know of.
Discuss the questions in groups. Every member writes his or her answers down. Then discuss it in groups. Make a plete answer. Then present it in the class.
Step2. Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
1. Where was Danny yesterday afternoon?
He was at Dinosaur School.
2. Did Danny learn Dinosaur song at school?
Yes, he did.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step3. Reading task
Read the text and encourage the students to ask more questions about this part.
S1: What did Danny learn at Dinosaur school?
S2: He learned dinosaur culture.
S3: When will they have dinner together?
S4: On Saturday.
Step4. Practice
Do with the main grammar: the objeplements.
Point out the sentences with objeplements:
I find other cultures interesting.
