Pathways in Technology Early College High School
Pathways in Technology Early College High School, which opened in 2011, is not your average public high school in Brooklyn, New York. The professional school is run in cooperation with IBM and goes to Grade 14, allowing students to graduate with an associate degree. In October 2013, President Obama spoke at the school. "You guys have opportunities here that you don’t find in most high schools yet." he said.
Clintondale High School
In 2010, Clintondale High School became a school where homework is done during the day, and instruction takes place at night in the home via online videos. Though the school, previously ranked among the worst five percent of schools in Michigan, Principal Greg Green says standardized test scores have improved since the change.
Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences
The Chicago High School For Agricultural Sciences is a public school set on the city’s last farm. In addition to the subjects like math and English, students also study subjects with an agricultural bent（爱好）. Animal sciences, horticulture (园艺) and agriculture technology are just some of the fields students can explore according to The New York Times. Principal William Hook told NPR in 2008 that he thinks the school prepares students for both college and the workplace.
Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy
Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy is a public school in Colorado where students have the opportunity of being full-time athletes. According to its website, "The goal of VSSA is to challenge its student-athletes with a rigid academic curriculum while supporting a world class training and competition schedule." In order to get accepted to the school, students must have first been admitted to the Ski& Snowboard Club Vail, a nonprofit club that trains young skiers strictly.

Ishamael Monwametsi leads a group of park rangers( 护 林 者 ) from the African nation of Botswana at a training exercise in Tanzania. The purpose of the exercise is to teach orderly, obedient( 顺 从 的 ) behavior to the rangers and their dogs. Commander Monwametsi, a retired crime investigator, directs I5 workers from Botswana's Department of Wildlife and National Parks.
After they complete the training, the rangers will set up their country’s first canine( 狗 的 ) force to fight the killing and trade of endangered wildlife. Botswana is home to the largest remaining population of elephants in Africa. Monwametsi says the trained dogs are the best partners in fighting illegal hunting. "Dog are effective because of their good sense of smell in terms of managing the different smells,” he says.
