I. The Analysis of Teaching Contents
The topic of this unit is about global warming,a environmental problem,which is familiar to the students. The reading text is a discussion and put forward different points of view about the causes of global warming and the possible effects. It poeses questions and encourages the students to talt the issues.
However, for this kind of acticles are diffult and dull for our students to understand, I try to simplify it to arouse the students’interest in some ways. After learning, the students should learn to talt the causes and effects of the global warming , express their ideas on what we can do for the global warming and get a better understanding of articles of this kind.
II. Teaching Aims
1. Knowledge aims
a. get the students to learn useful new words and expressions
b. get the students to understand some important sentences.
2. Ability aims
a. Develop the students’ different reading abilities and let them learn different reading skills: skimming, scanning and careful reading for reading tasks.
b. Help the students to learn the structure and writing skills of articles of this kind.
c. enable the students to talt the causes and effects of global warming.
d. encourage the students to express ideas of what we can do about global warming.
3. Emotional aims
Let the students know we should do something to protect our earth we live on.
