  1.Analysis of teaching materials
  (1) Content
  The selected teaching material is the warming up &reading part taken from New Senior English for China, Student’s Boonit 2. This part is about some forms of poems, including nursery rhymes, list poems, cinquain, Haiku and Tang poems.
  (2) Function& Status
  The reading part is intended to give Ss an example of some poems. This part is to develop the theme of the unit, that is, helping Ss to be more familiar with some characteristics of five forms of poems.
  2.Analysis of Students
  The students are from Senior 2 in Gaoji Middle School. Through at least four years’ learning about English, they have already acquired some basic knowledge on reading,such as skimming and careful reading. Besides, they have been in high school for more than one year, therefore, they are familiar with their classmates .

  6.Procedure(40 mins):
  Step 1: Pre-task activity(5mins)
  Show them a video clap”Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. For the first time, ask them whether they are familiar with it and ask them to recite it. Then analyse the rhyme of it. For the second time, ask them to sing after the video. Afterwards, ask if they can list some other kinds of poems. Today, we will learn some.
  Intention: introduce the topic
