  Teaching Procedure:
  Part 1: (Pre-reading)
  Step 1. lead-in
  Teacher shows a video of ai’s sports scene to lead in the topic: introducing a new friend-ai’s healthy lifestyle.
  Step2 Teacher presents the learning objectives.
  (1) to understand ai’s life style.
  (2) by using some reading skills to quicnderstand the passage.
  (3) to understand some words about body and health and get some details about the passage.
  Step 3 words and expressions studying
  1. present the words : anxious, captain, injure, injury, pain, painful, normal, sweet ,sugar catch /have a cold, etc
  2. divide the words into different categories:
  (a) using pictures to show words connected with food and the body.
  (b) doing word-match exercises to deal with the other words.
  Part 2: While-reading
  Step 1 ai (1)
  1. Listen to and Skim the passage ai (1).
  Then discuss the question: “What is ai’s mother anxious about?”
  ai’s mother anxious about whether ai will catch a cold.
  2. Practice role playing.
  3. Try doing multiple choice problems:
  What can we infer(推断)from ai (1) ?__________
  A . ai is wants to play football in the rain.

  For Par.1
  ask Ss to read and find the answer to the question: What is the topic of the first paragraph?
  When they find the answer ,point out the proverb they have just learnt: “We are what we eat”.
  For par.2
  First,find the topic sentence :I’m quite healthy.
  Then, underline the words that are connected with the body in this paragraph, which is to consolidate the important words in this lession.
  Next, find the sentence to say why ai is very healthy.
  Finally, ask Ss to find “What happened last week ?”
  For par.3
  Ask Ss to have a try to find where the topic sentence is in this paragraph?
  Point out:The words behind “but” usually exactly is the topic that the writer wants to say.
  Step 3 Understanding &Studying
  First ,guide the Ss to guess the meaning of some phrases.
  like I have a sweet tooth.
  Then expand to some more phrases:such as, have a meat tooth ,have a running nose.
  And continue to guess the phrase I’m crazy about football, in order to develop students’ ability of guessing words and phrases.
  Part 3: Pose-reading
  Step 1.Discussion:
  1. How are passage 1 and 2 connected?
  (1) They both talt the way ai’s mother looks after him.
  (2) They both mention the time he got ill through playing football in the rain.
  Step 2.Interview
  In your opinion, how can we keep a healthy lifestyle?
  Give Ss some words to guide them to ask and answer.
  Step 3.Summary
  Ask Ss to retell what they have learned in this lesion.
  Homework:
  1.Read and recite the passage.
  2.Think of five questions about a healthy lifestyle and tarns to ask and answer them with your classmates.
