  课题 Module 1 Our Body and Healthy Habits 课型 Speaking and Listening
  教材分析 Analysis of Teaching Material
  This module mainly talt the body and health. In the part of speaking, the students are expected to express the ideas of the healthy habits, what should and shouldn’t do in order to keep healthy. As for the listening part, the students will need to deal with a conversation between a doctor and a patient. Before that, they will learn and review some words describing the body, the words and phrases describing the health problem. Then they have to deal with the listening exercises which cover the main idea and the detailed information.
  According to the new Curriculum Criteria, I decide to adopt Task-based Learning (TBL). The students will be given tasks to express their attitudes toward healthy and unhealthy eating habits. In this way, not only will the students' learning motivation be greatly stimulated, but also their communication skills will be effectively improved. In the meantime, they will hold a positive attitude towards eating and living.    
  教学目标 The Main Task:
  The students will be helped to improve their speaking ability by doing group work and role-playing, obtain more words and phrases about dealing with health problems, and practice their listening ability by finishing different kinds of questions.
  Learning Strategies:
  1. Cognitive Strategy: In this period, by watching a vivid video, the students will be able to find out the needed information and express themselves.
  2. Communication Strategy: In this period, the students will be organized to cooperate with others to express their own opinions about healthy habits and act out the scene of seeing a doctor in English.
  Affection:
  In this period, the students will be cultivated to hold a positive attitude towards healthy habits.
  教学重难点 1. The students should have a clear picture of what should do and shouldn’t do in order to stay healthy.
  2. The students should be equipped with some words and phrases describing the illness.
  教具准备 The blackboard, the multi-media and some medical instruments

  Step 1 Leading-in
  1.Watch a students-made video
  Play a video of two students’ conversation covering the topic ‘healthy habits”. Ask the students to judge “Whose lifestyle is healthy” and give reasons.
  (supported by the multi-media)
  2. Speaking
  Ask the students to express their attitudes to the two students’ lifestyle or healthy habits.
  Step 2 Pre-Listening
  1. Acting Game
  Ask the students to do what I ask them to do. Input the words describing the body by playing a game. Give the students instructions to make some movement.
  2. Guessing game
  Teacher will make some movements
  showing different health problems and encourage the students to guess them out.
  3. Speaking
  Ask the students to think and speat the possible ways to help sooth the above health problem.
  Step 3. Listening
  1. Read and Guess
  Extract some statements of the doctor
  and the patient. Ask the students to read them very quickly and tict the doctor’s statements.
  2. Listen for the main idea
  Play the record and ask the students to tict the right answer.
  3. Listen some fragments for the detailed information
  Ask the students to complete the sentences by what they heard from the fragments of the listening material.
  4. Post-listing
  Use the above questions fully to make the students know the procedure of seeing a doctor, and be able to know the expression used in the conversation between a doctor and a patient.
  Step 4: Speaking
  Role-play
  Show the picture in the hospital and ask the students to act the scene out.
  Give the students some medical instruments to make it real and vivid.
  Ask them to act it in groups of four: one patient who is also a child, one parent, one doctor and nurse. Make the story real and vivid.
  Step 5.  Conclusion
  Invite the students to summarize what we have learned.
  Share some proverbs the importance of “Health” and ways to keep healthy.
  Step 8 Homework: 
  Ask the students to write a letter to Tom including telling the importance of Health and helping him to have a healthy habits.
  The students is invited to the class and be willing to watch an interesting video.
  The students will try to give their judgments and reasons by summarizing the different healthy habits.
  The students are required to make the movements in a fun way.
  The students are able to learn the phrases in a vivid way.
  The students will give their different ways to make the patient feel better.
  The students will tict their answers according to their experience.
  The students are required to listen to the tape and choose the right answer.
  The students will try to complete the sentences on the learning plan.
  The students may have a clear picture of how to express the symptom to the doctor and get proper treatment.
  Students are encouraged to activate their imagination and map a vivid story and present it to the whole class in English.
  The students will know more proverbs about health.
  The students will first recall the points discussed in the class which will help them write down their own opinions in a logic way. To attract the students’ attention quickly, and in coordination with the title of the text.
  To cultivate the students’ abilities of listening and speaking by getting the key information and being able to extract and express them out.
  1. Activate the students’ knowledge about the related words.
  2. Enlarge the vocabulary.
  3. Enable the students well-prepared for the following listening part.
  Lead in the listening skills of skimming questions before listening and being able to make predictions through them.
  Drill the students listening ability of obtaining the main idea.
  Enable the students to focus on the key information.
  To enhance the students' understanding of the passage and be ready to act the scene out.
  1.To make the students interested and creative.
  2. To offer the students a chance to consolidate what we’ve learned in this class.
  3. To develop the students’ communication skills by group work.
  4. To make the class lively again. 
  To cultivate the students to hold a positive attitude towards healthy habits.
  To improve the students’ writing skills of writing letter with advice and arguments.
