  教材分析 The topic of Reading and Vocabulary in module four is close to students’ life. Conversation between Xiaoli and John Martin tells us several aspects of Xiamen including impression, climate, food, architecture, tourist attraction and location. Students can get the main idea of the conversation and learn adjectives and phrases used to describe a coastal city. Then, students can choose appropriate words and phrases in real situation. It can enhance their ability to communicate better in speaking.
  教学目标
  Knowledge 1. Students learn and acquire adjective words and phrases related to coastal cities descriptions.
  2. Students know what can be included in describing a city, such as impression, climate, food, architecture, tourist attraction and location.
  3. Students can use the adjectives in real context and apply the rules to other words, such as attractive, lively, gorgeous, high-rise, local, modern, hot, wet, cold, interesting, tasty and pretty
  Skill 1. Students can guess the meaning of new words and explain them with words they have already known.
  2. Students practice their oral speaking and communicative skills while they are trying to describe a city in the group discussion. They also utilize the words and expressions they have just learned.
  Attitude Students express their love toward their hometown, when they describe how beautiful it is.
  教学重点难点 The important teaching points 1. Students learn new words related to coastal cities descriptions. 
  2. Students can get six aspects of describing Xiamen in reading, and learn to use the adjectives and phrases by classifying their usage in different aspects of description.
  The difficult teaching points 1. Students can use the adjectives and phrases they have learned in real context and apply the rules to other words.
  2. students can use the words and phrases in their own oral description of a coastal city-- Haikou.

  钟 导入中学习生词 Show students four sentences of descriptions of cities, and they guess where they are.
  Teach new words by those pictures and sentences.
  Students guess which cities from the description and also guess the meaning of new words. And read them out loud after the teacher.
  Students’ interest in today’s topics is aroused and students get involved in class. They can learn some new words which help them prepare for reading in next part.

  Students speadly any things that pop up in their mind.
  Students predict what is mainly included in the conversation and it will be easier for them to take down the six aspects of the city in the next step while they are reading .
