Ⅰ、Teaching Aims
a. Knowledge objectives (语言知识目标)
The students will be able to:
1). learn key words and useful expressions related to cities, such as attractive, pretty, tourist, district, gorgeous, so far, a great many, etc.
2). learn some topics about introducing cities, such as climate, people, location as well as some good expressions, like so far, the first time, a great many and so on.
b. Competence objectives(语言技能目标)
The students will be able to:
1). get the information of what the dialogue is about according to the clues.
2). improve some reading skills, like reading for the key words, details, clues and structure.
3). get the information of how to introduce a lively city by making a presentation in groups.
c. Moral objectives(情感态度目标)
The students will be able to:
1). cultivate team work and foster some characteristics, such as independence and confidence by giving presentation.
2). foster the enthusiasm and love for hometown by introducing a lively city as well as arouse a sense of being proud of themselves.
Ⅱ、Teaching Important Points (教学重点)
a. To learn some key words and expressions about a city, such as attractive, gorgeous , architecture and so on.
b. To master some reading strategies, like reading for key words, clues and structure.
c. To introduce a lively city by making a presentation in groups.

a. Get clues from the dialogue and make a presentation of my lively city in groups .

Step 1 Greetings& Leading-in
a. Make a greeting to the whole class.
b. Introduce the learning objectives.
①. Students are able to use the key words and expressions to describe a city, such as attractive, pretty, district and so on.
②. Students are able to get the main ideas of the text and find out the clues and feelings.
③. Students are able to introduce a city by using key words,such as climate、location、people and so on.
c. Lead the topic in and guide the students to the topic about Xiamen through a guessing game.
