1> Sun Yat-sen, who was the leader of the 1911 Revolution, first suggested the idea of a dam across the Yangtze River in 1919
2> Burning coal causes serious air pollution and increases global warming.
3> The dam will generate electricity equal to about 40 million tons of coal without causing so much air pollution.
Ability Objectives
At the end of this class, students will be able to:
1. improve their reading skills to get the important sentences and detailed information to summarize the structure and main idea of the passage.
2. talt advantages and disadvantages of the Three Gorges Dam by using some important words and expressions
3. imitate a hearing.
