(2014•长沙二模)If you're thinking about reaching for another biscuit to get you through the working day, think again.Eating unhealthy snacks at your desk ma pile on almost half a stone a year,a survey has revealed. The waistlines of women suffer the most, with the average female putting on 6lb 3oz—the equivalent of a whole dress size—while men see their weight increase by 5lb 2oz.
The report into our eating habits found that,on average,we eat at least two snacks a day, with 30 percent of us tucking into three or more.Women admit eating more than men, with a further 13 percent of ladies scoffing four or more snacks a day.The research,by The Village Band biscuits are the most common vice, with 42 percent regularly opening a pack, closely followed by chocolate (38 percent),crisps (32 percent) and cakes ( 13 percent).
And office workers are worse than most.Cakes and biscuits brought into work by colleagues are one of the main temptations office staff give in to.In addition,33 percent admit reaching for nibbles to cope with stress and 22 percent say they need a sugar rush to perp in the afternoon.
Simon Staddon,of The Village Bakery, said:“We were aware time-poor office workers can find it difficult to easily access a nutritional lunch. But we were really shocked by the extent to which ‘quick fix’ lunches are affecting weight gain and general well-being.Popular mid-afternoon picps such as biscuits, chocolate and cakes are high in calories, fat and full of sugar, all of which affect your blood sugar levels and ultimately lead to weight gain.”
The survey of 2,000 British men and women suggests we are often ashamed of our unhealthy eating.Twenty-four percent of Britons admit lying about how many snacks they eat with 33 percent of women lying, compared to 20 福建大田县2017高考英语一轮阅读理解选习题及参考答案

Countless people long to make a difference this holiday season, yet they don't realize that opportunities to make a difference are everywhere. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Organize a blank drive
It is cold outside, but imagine how thousands of homeless people may feel without a home of their own, or even a blanket to keep them from the cold. Organize a blank drive for your local homeless, and asnd for donations!
Practice random acts of kindness
I'll never forget the time when I went to pay for my Dr. Pepper, but the server resisted, saying my bill was paid by an anonymous(匿名的) guest. It's this random act of kindness that restores my faith in humanity. Bless someone by paying for their drink at Starbucks, or praising them! If you live somewhere where it snows, shovel your neighbour's snow out of their driveway for them! Whether it is as simple as praise or as complex as paying the bill, you'll never know how far your impact will reach.
Say than
Just a simple than can make__somebody's__day,__especially if they feel like their work is never noticed. Cultivate(培养) a smile on their face by being sincere and grateful for all that they do.
Use your talents to help the community

(2016高考训练)阅读下列材料,从每题所给的选项中选出最佳选项。
A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying.
Because no light can get out, people can't see black holes. Space telescopes with special tools can help find black holes. The special tools can see how stars that are very close to black holes act differently from other ones.
Black holes can be big or small. Scientists think the smallest black holes are as small as just one atom. These black holes are very tiny but have the mass of a large mountain. Mass is the amount of matter, or “staff”, in an object.
Another kind of black hole is called “stellar”(星球黑洞). Its mass can be up to 20 times more than the mass of the sun. There may be many stellar mass black holes in Earth's galaxy. Earth's galaxy is called the Milky Way.
The largest black holes are called “supermassive”(超大质量黑洞). These black holes have masses that are more than one million suns together. Scientists have found proof that every large galaxy contains a supermassive black hole at its center. The supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy has a mass equal to about four million suns and would fit inside a very large ball that could hold a few million Earths.
Scientists think the smallest black holes formed when the universe began. Stellar black holes are made when the center of a very big star falls in upon itself, or falls apart. When this happens, it exploded part of the star into space. Scientists thinpermassive black holes were made at the same time as the galaxy they are in.

Jiang Zhongjie,19,a second-year student majoring in biology at Xiamen University, looks at job websites almost every day.As summer vacation approaches,he can't decide which internship (实习) position would benefit him.
“I think it is hard to know what would be a meaningful intern job,” he said.“Most of the time, the positions on offer are low paid, boring jobs, such as sales promotion,” said Jiang.
Last month, during an education forum (论坛),Huang Guitian, assistant to the president of Peniversity, called for a halt to the internships of lower quality, regarding them as “dull and meaningless, affecting students' academic performance”.
Huang conducted a mini survey, showing “80 percent of students merely do odd (零散的) jobs on internship”.
But employers and students may have different attitudes.According to a survey of 116 Beijing and Shanghai-based companies by Zhaopin.com,a leading human resource services site, nearly 60 percent said they still valued applicants' hands-on experience most.
Zhang Jianhong,HR director in Huawei Technologies Co.Ltd agreed with this idea, believing that internship even goes beyond gaining experience.“An internship actually offers a great chance for students to get an inside glimpse of a company,an industry and a particular occupation,” he said.
