　　The oldest giant panda living in cage is set to challenge the world record for the animals' long life,
　　with her age said to be the same as a human being at least 100 years old.
　　Hong Kong's giant panda Jiajia, whose name means "good", will turn 37 this summer at the theme park
　　Ocean Park, matching the Guinness World Records title for the oldest panda survivor in cage-Du Du, who died
　　in 1999, aged 37.“Itis rare for pandas to live to this age," said Grant Abel, the park's director of animal care.
　　Born in the Chinese mainland in 1978, Jiajia was gifted to Hong Kong in 1999, along with another
　　panda, to mark the second anniversary of the city's handover from former colonial ruler Britain. She
　　weighs 80 kg and is considered to be in remarkably good health for her age, even though her eyesight
　　is severely impaired and her hearing has grown worse, says Paolo Martelli , the park's chief vet. Jiajia
　　takes medicines for high blood pressure and arthritis. She walks slowly and avoids the exhibition area
　　of her fence, preferring to stay at the back and feast on several kilograms of bamboo shoots and leaves,
　　besides fruit and high-fibre bread.
　　“The first thing I thought when I saw Jiajia was, Oh my God, she's so old, I'm going to be the one
　　to bury her," Martelli said.
　　”But actually it's been 10 years now. And she's had a few ups and downs, but she always manages
　　to recover and loorprisingly good for years after that," he said, adding that it was hard to predict
　　her remaining lifetime.
　　A Chinese mainland government survey in 2014 estimated l,864 pandas live in the wild, up 17
　　percent from 2003.
　　They also have an exceptionally short breeding（繁殖）season, with females fertile(可繁殖的)for
　　just 24 to 36 hours a year, says a nonprofit body, Pandas International.

　　Dear friends, you must have noticed the news yesterday that Solar Impulse II, the aeroplane that
　　is powered only by the sun ,has landed in Hawaii after making a historic 118 hours flight in the air,
　　flying across the Pacific Ocean from Japan.
　　This zero fuel solar-powered aircraft was born in Switzerland. It loost liper cute giant
　　dragonfly(蜻蜓). Before the non stop flight in the past five days and nights, it flew over the United Arab
　　Emirates, India, China, and Japan; and then it flew across the Pacific, finally landed safely in Hawaii. It
　　will continue to fly around the globe after a technical repair.
