  Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m Li Hua, a middle school student from Zhan Jiang, China. I’ve learned from a newspaper that bears are dying out in the world because of human activities. One of the reasons why bears are being killed is that some parts of bears are so valuable and can be used as medicine. Another reason is that many habitats of bears are being destroyed, so bears are losing their homes.
To save bears, I think more reserves for bears should be set up so that they can live freely there. Second, people must stop buying things made from bears, because if the buying stops, the killing can also stop, too. Last but not least, laws should be passed to protect bears from killing or hunting.
Please give a hand to the endangered bears. They need our help to survive.
  Yours sincerely,
  Li Hua

  Ⅰ. 阅读理解
Many wild animals are facing the danger of dying out, because the environment that they are living in has changed greatly. For example, with the development of cities, the using of insecticide (杀虫剂) and serious pollution, their living areas have become narrower and narrower. Many of the wild animals, now are faced with food crisis. At the same time, human beings are killing off species just for getting their fur, skin, horns, teeth and meat.
In order to protect our resources of ecology (生态学), people should realize that the loss of any species is at least the loss of a source of knowledge and a source of natural beauty. Therefore, measures of the following should be taken: pollution standards are made to keep down poisons; killing off certain rare species is forbidden; national parld be set up as wild life reserves. Only if we human beings take some drastic (极端的) measures can wild animals be protected.
