　　一、设计理念
　　本节阅读课采用PWP阅读教学模式，阅读教学主要是通过读前活动、阅读活动、读后活动来开展的。
　　“读前活动”主要包括背景知识的激活、话题的导入、兴趣的激发和语言、策略的准
　　备。“阅读活动”是阅读教学的核心，是从具体信息的识别，到推理判断能力的培养，是从知识层面、理解层面到分析层面转化过程，并将阅读策略贯穿其中。该阶段所设计的活动以训练学生的阅读技能为目标，具体采用如下活动：捕捉具体信息、构画文章的结构、回答事实性问题、回答推理性问题、将事件排序等。
　　“读后活动”侧重于知识的应用和综合，学生要联系自己的实际，运用阅读中获取的
　　信息、感知和句法认知的策略或所理解的文化。该阶段的目的有两个，一是根据阅读内容进行一些思维活动, 如口头复述、采访活动；二是鼓励学生将阅读的内容与与自己的经历、知识、兴趣和观点相联系如续写故事、介绍自己类似的经历。
　　二、教学分析
　　（一）学情分析
　　高一学生对未知领域充满好奇，尤其在Welcome环节中接触了UFO、野人，《课课练》中的背景阅读如“百慕大三角”，“尼斯湖水怪”等之后，学生的好奇心与求知欲充分得到激发，他们主观愿望是在英语的学习中得到答案从而获得快乐。
　　（二）教材分析
　　1. 教学内容分析
　　文本描述了一位男孩失踪前后的情况，其体裁是新闻报道，采用新闻报告的常规要点为切入口，从title到who, what, when, where, why和 how这几个方面构画出新闻报道清晰的框架结构，学生掌握阅读此类文章的方法后，能够在此类文章中捕捉所需要的信息，梳理文章结构，并通过讨论发挥学生们的想象力为故事续写结局。
　　2. 教学目标
　　（1）知识目标：通过本课的学习，了解新闻故事的文体特点。
　　（2）能力目标：掌握新闻故事的阅读策略，即体裁本位阅读策略----倒金字塔式，预测策略，细节阅读策略图表填充、聚焦问题，观点态度阅读策略等学习策略。
　　（3）情感目标：学生能够用英语与小组同学合作交流，用英语表达对自己本文的观点、态度。
　　3. 教学重点与难点
　　重点：了解文章体裁，学会运用阅读策略分析、理解文章。
　　难点：阅读技能的训练与提高，对新闻故事的复述或续写。
　　三、 教学步骤
　　Step1 Lead-in (2minutes)
　　Warm-up questions:
　　1. Let’s enjoy some pictures about newspapers.
　　2. Do you often read newspapers? (often, seldom …)
　　3.  How do you select the news you like to read, by taking a look at its title or by being attracted by its colorful pictures?
　　【设计意图】选择Teens报纸上面的不同话题, 拍摄图片制成PPT播放，从视觉上激发学生对阅读新闻报道的兴趣，再通过设疑提问从思想上激发学生的阅读动机，激活学生已有的相关知识。
　　Step2 Reading strategy(4minutes)
　　I’m sure you want to know what really happened in the news story to checr imagination, but before reading the story, I should tell you how a news story is organized so that you may catch the important information in it more easily.
　　1. What are the features of a news story?
　　● It is usually written in an inverted pyramid format.
　　● The broadest (最广泛的), most general information is given first,  and then the supporting details (论证性细节).    
　　2. The structure of a news story
　　● the title: to give a general idea of the news
　　● the first paragraph: to give the main topic and the most important facts like when, where, who, what , why and how about the event;
　　● the second paragraph: to give more important facts
　　● the following paragraphs: to give detailed but less important bacnd information
　　3. Application of reading strategy
　　Ask the students the following questions
　　1.)Can you tell me the feature of this news title? (The title of a news story is usually incomplete, attractive, exact and direct … )
　　2.) Can you complete the title? (“A boy is missing, and the police are puzzled”)
　　3.) What information can you get from the title? (how/when/wh
