  Thoughts on the design:
  在本课时中,学生可以通过阅读护士日记,对个人如何在Doctors without Borders组织下进行医疗救助的行为有着非常感性和直观的了解。在此基础之上,学生可以根据自己的意愿为自己做一个帮助他人的行动计划。因此,在教学设计上,可以利用task当中所学到proposal的制定方法,由学生讨论,最后完成个人行动计划的制定。
  Teaching aims:
  After learning Task, the students will be able to:
  1. Finish a project by working together with what they’ve learnt;
  2. Have a better understanding about what can be done to help poor people in poor areas.
  Teaching procedures:
  Step 1 Lead in
  1. Asdents whether they’ve heard of an international organization called Doctors without Borders after having learnt so many organizations of the UN, and ask them to guess what the function of this organization is.
  2. Explain Doctors without Borders to students before they listen to the passage.
  Step 2 Text analysis
  1. Read the passage while listening to it, and look for some specific information required in the chart.
  1). What disaster does the place where the nurse stays suffer?

  2). Can she communicate with the local people easily? Why?

  3). How does she feel when thinking of her experiences as a member of MSF?

  5) She worried that malnutrition will be a problem in the future because the fields and harvest have been destroyed.
  6) Several MSF staff were attacked as people on the island tried to get the food.

  Step 3 Discussion  Make an action plan
  1. Give students a possible outline of “My action plan” and students are supposed to complete the “plan” according to the text.
  2.  Encourage students to mass about their future plan about helping children in rural
  areas who can't afford to go to school.
