1、 课题意义:
Traveling is a topic that the students are familiar with and interested in. Through the discussion about traveling in Africa, the students can not only increase their knowledge of both nature and culture, but also develop their love and for nature and cultivate their adventurous spirit. Besides, through the learning of this lesson, they will further enhance their overall abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing in practical use which are required in the New Curriculum Standards.

This is the second period of Unit 2 in Module 2,Oxford English.

教学目标分析(结合课程标准说明本节课学习完成后所要达到的具体目标):
This is the second period of Unit 2 in Module 2, providing students with some information about nature and culture of Africa and presenting them the writing style of an informal letter. Some reading skills are necessary when comprehending the text. As for grammar, this lesson deals with future plans, involving description of time, duration and sequences, which lay a solid foundation for future continuous tense. According to the contents of this lesson and the requirements of the New Curriculum Standards, I aim to achieve the following teaching objectives:
Language Objective:
•To get the students to master important words, phrases and sentences
•To get the students to learn to identify the style of informal letters
Skill Objective:
•To develop students’ fluency in talking about travel experiences
•To train students’ ability of identifying the main idea of the passage
•To develop students’ reading skills, such as information-gathering, skimming, scanning, summarizing and guessing the new words from the context
Moral Objective:
•To expand students’ knowledge and make them aware of the importance of cross-culture communication
•To enable students to cooperate with others and know the importance of team spirit
•To get them aware of the beautiful world and increase their willingness to cherish it
《An adventure in Africa》教学实践报告
本课课题选自《牛津高中英语》模块二第二单元的Welcome and Reading部分。本课学习旨在帮助学生了解作者在非洲旅行的所见所闻和所做的事,从而了解非洲的自然风光和风土人情,拓宽他们的文化视野,激发他们对大自然的热爱和探究大自然的渴望,培养他们的学习和探究意识。同时,以此课文为载体,进一步发展学生听、说、读、写的基本语言运用能力,着重提高学生用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力,能力培养学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力,提高他们基本的英语语言素养,为未来发展和终身学习奠定坚实的基础。因此,本课根据教学内容和学生生活实际设计了八个探究性的问题,让学生围绕这八个问题,通过观察、讨论、小组合作、参与和探究等积极主动的学习方式,完成任务,实现教学目标,形成有效地英语学习策略,从而使语言学习的过程成为学生主动思维、大胆实践、形成自主学习能力的过程。
