  Teaching aims:
  1. Help students to understand the whole passage and the structure, dealing with some vocabulary whiay influence reading.
  2. Assist students to learn about the inspiring story of Sang Lan.
  3. Improve students’ skills to deal with difficulties in their life.

  1. Students understand the text exactly and read an interview.
  2. Students can benefit a lot from Sang Lan.

  Asdents to answer three questions:
  1) Who is the interviewer and the interviewee?
  2) What is the topic of the interview?
  3) Who is the girl that is talt?
  Tell students the three parts of the passage and ask them to match the three parts with the main ideas on the right. (Structure)
  3. Scanning
  Read Part 1 and mark the correct sentences and correct the wrong ones. Discuss about the way Sang Lan find happiness.
  Read Part 2. Then discuss with students the important experiences of Sang Lan before the accident.
  Watch part of a vedio of a petition that Sang Lan peted in 1998 and guide students to point out Sang Lan’s goals as a gymnast.
  Read part 3 and find out the words referring to the feelings of Sang Lan. Asdents to figure out the goals for Sang Lan after the injury.
  3. Task-based reading prehension.
  4. Discussion
  How can Sang Lan feel happy even in difficult times?
  5. Task
  Students are offered some information of the trouble Sang Lan has recently met with her domestic servant. They should give suggetions to solve the problem between the two people, with the help of a table what we’ve learnt about Sang Lan.
