Teaching Process
Step 1. Lead in and words study:
Q: Do you get pooney from your parents? How much pooney do you get eaonth?
What do you like to spend money on?
Ss’possible response: some, much, a little , no, disk, CDs, snacks, laptop, puter games …
Step II. Pre-reading
Words guessing: guess the meaning through definition, synonym, antonym, content, pictures, etc.
Words explanation
appeal to: interest, attract, lure
e.g. The plan appealed to us.
She appeals to me.
Does the idea of working for a venture pany appeal to you?
approximately: around, about, nearly, or so
e.g. Ms. King is described as a blaale, approximately 5'7" tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds.

erosion: the condition of being bad
e.g. The soil is too poor to grow crops.
The soil erosion in this area is caused by wind.
Step III. Pre-reading
Leading in
1.Talt the pictures about the Yellow River, what can we do to prevent from soil erosion?
2. How much do we need to spend buying a small tree?
What can we do with only 5 yuan?
Can we do a great thing with such little money?
3. Read the title and predict what the text would talt? Make predictions (True or False), according to the title and pictures.
