　　Reuel Tolkien(1892—1973)，the British linguist，writer.He created a fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings the well-known trilogy(三部曲)．
　　Tolkien was born in Bloemfontein，South Africa.When he was 4 years old，his father died and his family moved back to England.Tollkien graduated from Oxford University when he was 23 years old，and participated in the First World War.During the war，Tolffered from “trench fever” and stayed in the hospital until the end of World War Ⅰ.It was during the days in the hospital that he began his writing career first.

　　This assertion(断言) belongs to Albert Einstein that in life imagination is more important than knowledge.Another important thing that goes together with imagination and knowledge is intelligence.This contributes to our behaviour in society, to our integration(整合) in different groups of people and helps us manage in extreme situations of our life.
　　First of all, imagination can be noticed mostly at intelligent persons.However, everybody has a certain degree of imagination, be it higher or slower.Consequently, each one of us uses his imagination in the every day life and contributes at making different inventions, some of them being very useful to the mankind.Here we can mention the inventions that men of science and not only have invented for the benefit of the developing of society: the bulb, the radio, the telephone, the steam, the Internet and so on.
