  1. How much do you know about “Antarctica”?
  2. Look at the title,what do you thint it?
  Ask Ss to brainstorm as many words about Antarctica as possible.
  1.Ask Ss to skim the text by only reading key words, the  first and last sentences in order to  catch the general idea.
  2.Ask Ss to Scan the whole text to answer the questions with T or F . 
  3.Let Ss read the text again, and ask and answer according to the text.
  Help Ss smooth away the difficulties in reading.

  Write a short
  passage about the environmental
  Protection Look at the screen,discuss in groups and report
  Look at the picture and then say out as many words as possible

  Through the material object learn new words, make the vocabulary learning more significant, and think in English
  Hold the thread of the whole text. Pay attention to every part of the first or last sentences
  Analysis problems, look for the keywords and understand the answers by using reading skimming skills.
  Guide the Ss to find out the related Antarctica and specific details independently.
  Through the form of discussing questions, analysis the questions carefully, understand the main idea ,the author intention and writing techniques deeply.
  Develop the awareness of environmental protection
  Develop the ability of summary.
  The Ss show difficult sentences and also find good words, phrases and accumulate useful sentences.
  Output exercises in order to consolidate what they have learnt in class.
