教材分析:
所用教材为外研版新标准九年级上册第三模块。本模块围绕“hero”话题和“adverbial clause with because, so, so that”功能项目进行教学,通过听说的活动,让学生对英雄的品质和成就之间的因果关系有一定的认知,对于英雄的定义有一定的认识,学会关注身边普通人的英雄行为,会通过具体的事情分析英雄所具备的品质,谈论自己心目中的英雄。
课时分析:在M2中,学生已经学习了after等词引导的状语从句,而在这个模块对于英雄人物的描写,和时间有很大的关系,所以在U1中,关键事件都建立在时间状语从句的基础上,对于学生来说是一个语言上的铺垫。对于英雄话题,是关于人物的话题,素材选用的是邓亚萍和白求恩,对于学生来说不会陌生,而对于人物的各种事件描述和品质词,在初一初二的教学中涉及较多,因此对于学生来说语言上和题材上都不会有大的障碍。U1是U2的基础,因此在U1一定要让学生对于“英雄”的概念有一定的认识,而且在表达英雄的品质上要给出足够的语言铺垫以便讨论自己的英雄。
学情分析:授课班级为普通班,从知识点的层面上来说大部分同学对于U1的教学内容不会有学习障碍,在M2的学习中对于时间状语从句的掌握较好,大部分同学乐于发表自己的想法,但是本班为今年新接班级,教师和学生仍需磨合,对于教师的语速,活动组织方法,学生还不是很适应,加上4班英语薄弱生相对较多,所以在课程的组织中需要做好铺垫,帮助学生理解课文,积极在课上表达。
教学目标:

Qualities: hard-working, strong-willed, strong-minded, etc
难点:analyze the relation between a hero’s achievements and his qualities and help students realize the importance of qualities of being a hero.
