I.教学目标:
根据教材内容和高中英语课程标准,我拟定下列教学目标:
目标1: 使学生了解John snow 怎样找到霍乱疾病的原因
目标2:使学生了解John snow怎样逐步打败了霍乱疾病
目标3:使学生了解伟大科学家的品质并且向其学习
教学重点:
因为本组教材的重点了解项目是John Snow破解霍乱难题,所以本课的教学重点是使学生了解John Snow是如何破解霍乱难题的。
教学难点:
考虑到学生拓展阅读能力、语言输出能力等方面还需进一步努力,所以本课的教学难点确定为:如何使学生梳理文章 内容用恰当英语谈论、描述科学家的性格特色。
II.教法和学法:
① 教学方法:
引导学生独立思考、合作学习,进行师生、生生互动的任务型教学,设计了多个易于操作的任务型活动。
此课主要处理好教学的三个阶段:即Pre-reading、Reading、Post-reading。激活相关知识,预测文章内容,提高学生的学习兴趣。Reading主要通过各种阅读活动理解课文,获取必要的信息,完成问题。Post-reading主要是让学生结合所学知识,通过讨论、小组合作,发展与人沟通和与人合作的能力,提高学生收集信息、整理信息及传递信息的能力。
② 学法:
任务型教学强调的是Learning by doing, 学生通过完成教师设定的任务活动,激发学习兴趣,更有利于发挥学生的主体性作用,达到学习和掌握语言的目的。
③ 教具:
使用多媒体平台和直观道具,以扩大学生知识面和求知欲。
III.教学过程:
Step 1 Warming Up and lead-in:
I’d like to ask the Ss: let’s have a guessing game.
Then I’ll let the Ss try the game and the students answered my questions.
通过猜测游戏,激发学生了解不同领域不同时代科学家的兴趣和热情, 然后引出本文主人公John snow。
Step 2 Pre-reading:
Look at the title and predict the content of the reading passage and ask them what the passage will talt. 进而提出了what, who, how, why 等问题
I’d like to ask the Ss:Do you know who is John snow?
Then I will let the Ss look at the relationship between John Snow and Queen Victoria.
Next, I’d like to let the Ss get to know what kind of disease King Cholera is.
Step 3 Reading:
First,I’d like to give the Ss some time to scan the text and get the main idea of the whole text and the main idea of the whole passage.
通过Scanning让学生了解文章的主要信息,把握文章的脉络,为下一步阅读做好准备。
Next, I’d like to ask the Ss to read each paragraph carefully this time, and finish the exercises one by one. Then I will ask some Ss to answer the questions to check if they understand the text well and give the Ss a chance to express their thinking.

为了让学生写出文章的梗概,先帮学生勾勒出文章的脉络,进而了解做科学实验的步骤,点出每段的关键词和短语,构成一个思维导图,然后对文章进行总结,summary设置成语法填空的形式,让学生梳理文章的同时又进一步巩固了文章的重点短语和词汇。
本课的教学重点的突破方法是:在阅读前,让学生初步了解得文章的背景知识,从而轻松而自然地导入文章的阅读;在阅读过程中,由易到难设计快速阅读和精读的问题,层层推进各种阅读活动,让学生对阅读内容从整体感知到细节理解,最后深层读懂整篇文章,同时加强阅读策略的指导,让每个学生都主动参与课堂教学活动,最终达到提高阅读能力的目的。
Step 4 Post-reading
Why could he defeat “King cholera”?
Group Discussion:
四人小组共同合作,在老师的适当指导下,就以下问题展开讨论,让学生就所知、所学、所感和所想融入话题,然后抽若干同学代表作小组发言。
Why could he defeat the disease? Can you find supporting evidence in the text?
通过小组讨论和发言,训练学生组织语言和应用语言的能力,学生在参与活动,完成任务的过程中,进一步学习如何使用恰当的英语谈论描述科学家的性格品质,引导学生向他们学习。
Step 5 Summary and Homework
Surf the internet to find out:
What should we pay attention to in our daily life to prevent ourselves from getting infected with all these infectious diseases?
本堂课本人适当的运用了多媒体来协助课堂。如在导入部分给学生所展示的图片和阅读文章处理时给学生呈现的文字、填空和问答题等。在以后的教学设计中,应该充分利用任务型教学法,力求在探究式学习活动中,根据学生的生活经验和学习兴趣,以不同形式和梯度的任务为载体,为络,让学生构建思维导图,然后让学生自己对文本进行梳理,然后对文章进行书面总结。进行潜移默化的英语语言输入,并鼓励学生使用语言,用语言表达自己,达到语言的有效输出。但是学生自己梳理文本进行语言输出的能力还是有待提升。
