  Picture 1:

  Lesson   Three
  The  Road  to  Success
  ( the  second  period)
  I. Analysis  of  Teaching  Material:
  本课为本单元最后一课,学生已经积累了一定关于性格和工作的词汇和短语。本节课教师的教学目的主要是想让学生使用本单元所学的部分词汇和短语进行口语练习,从而帮助学生真正的学会使用新学的词汇和短语,最终达到由词成句、由句成段、由段成文的目的。同时,教师会根据板书和幻灯上的单词设计给学生灌输一些基本的构词法常识。
  此外,教师想通过本节课对学生进行正确的情感价值观的渗透,让学生明白成功的含义;同时,教师希望引导学生对自己的职业进行有针对性的规划。
  最后,教师希望本节课能够起到承上启下的作用。模块五的第十三单元的people中讲到了personalities and jobs的话题, 学生学习了部分关于性格和工作的词汇,本单元对词汇进行了进一步的补充和扩展;模块五的第十五单元的learning中讲到了 life-long learning的话题,这是取得成功所必需的品质,也是对本单元的一个延续,本课正处于中间,可以起到承上启下的作用。
  II. Analysis  of  Students:
  本班为文科实验班,大部分学生有一定的语言基础,语言素质相对不错。但口语表达一般,没有连词成句、正确使用连接词的习惯。此外,学生对写作文章结构的把握不是很好。
  III. Teaching  Objectives:
  By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
   use some words and phrases about personalities to talt different jobs.
   know the structure of the writing.
   understand what is success and how to achieve success .
  IV. Teaching  Procedures:

  Revision Ask Ss to talt what is success by asestions. Help Ss to form correct attitude to success. CW

  Word Revision Show Ss a picture and ask their understanding about the picture. Then lead in the topic and ask Ss to brainstorm the words and phrases about personalities. Give Ss some time to brainstorm the words and phrases they have learned. IW

  Word Revision Let Ss brainstorm words about jobs. Give Ss some time to brainstorm the words and phrases they have learned IW
  4’
  Step 4
  Oral Practice Work in pairs to discuss the personalities that are needed for different jobs. Provide Ss a chance to practise using the key words they have learned. PW
