Miss Fang is asking the children about their grandparents.
Miss Fang: Do you live with your grandparents? How often do you visit them? What do you do with them?
Alice: I don’t live with my grandparents. I visit them once a week. I always visit them at weekends. I often play chess with my grandpa.
Kitty: I visit my grandparents at weekends too. We usually go to the park.
Peter: My grandparents live in Beijing. I visit them twice a year. I often write e-mails to them. Sometimes I talk to them on the Internet.

5AM2U1 Grandparents 单元设计
单元任务分析
该单元的主题为Grandparents,要求学生掌握的核心词汇是:once、twice、times、knock、strange等, 主要句型是How often do you visit…?及回答I visit…once/twice…a week/month. 以及What do you do with your …? I often… Are you all right? I am OK. 本单元还要求学生能用以前所学的句型介绍自己的祖父母,并根据提示与同学进行问答,了解同学的祖父母的情况,能以“探望祖父母”为主题写话。
除了核心词之外,本单元还需要复习再现有关人物的介绍和传统节日的描述。另外,需要掌握和操练的词汇和词组包括 twice a week, play chess, write an e-mail, on the Internet, go shopping, knock at the door, go on an outing, on one’s way to…等,这些词组与实际生活息息相关,可结合学生的实际情况进行教学,使学生可以做到运用这些词汇进行流利地交流。在故事教学方面,要求学生了解小红帽和大灰狼的故事情节及其内涵,并能用自己的语言复述出来。音标教学方面,要求学生掌握 [a:][ʌ] 的正确发音,以及进行发音的归类,让学生能看到音标想到字母或字母组合,并能正确辨音。
在情感表达方面,本单元通过学习小红帽的故事和重阳节的来历,让学生了解到父母和祖父母为家庭所做的贡献,为自己的成长付出的心血,教育学生平时多关心自己的长辈,孝顺自己的父母和祖父母,并为他们做一些力所能及的事情,旨在教育学生懂得感恩。
